All current RMTBC members who enter the 100km event will be eligible to win the inaugural club marathon (XCM) honors for the fastest male and female riders. Join the Rotorua Mountain Bike Club today.

THE COURSE

Course subject to change. The Whakarewarewa is a production forest, so there may be changes to the course at any time. GPS data may have a variation of up to 5%.
TRAIL GRADING
The course does not require a high-level of technical skill with the majority of the stages being on grades 1- 3 and a touch of easier grade 4 trails - all rollable with clear B-lines around any features. Navigation skills are not needed with our well-marked route.

START WAVES
To ensure a safe and fair event for all age group and pairs riders we have different starting groups. Be realistic and carefully choose your start waves. To calculate your finish time, please use this average speed calculator. Start waves cannot be changed and will be displayed on your event number plate.

SAFETY CHECK POINTS
The course check points listed below are in the interest of participant safety. The times are based on a participant averaging 9.6kmph. If you fall behind the timing checkpoints you will be removed from the event and classed as a non-finisher.

CLIF BAR AID STATION
The aid station will have food, hydration, medical and mechanical support. The food section of the aid station is self service. Access to the feed zone can only be accessed at 56km, you will not be able to cut access other section of the course to access the CLIF BAR Aid Station. This will be stocked with the following:

- The aid station is located at on Nice Road, spectators can access this on bike or foot, there is no public road access (Google Map)

CAMELBAK WATER STATIONS
There will be self service CamelBak water stations out on course. The water stations fill a standard CamelBak water bottle in 55 seconds. The water locations are:

- 31km | Exit part 1 Te Pou-Koropu trail
- 51km | Feed Zone (Supporters allowed)
- 67km | Green Lake Road
- 82km | Yellow Brick Road
- 97km | Exit Old Chevy Trail

DROP BAG SERVICE
There is a drop bag service for the 100km event. Your bag will be transported to and from the CLIF BAR Aid Station. The event supplies you with a drop bag & label with your race number on it, however you can use another style of bag or chilly bin, as long as it's no bigger than 58cm x 46cm x 35.5cm.
BAG LOADING
All 100km participants or a nominated support crew member will need to deliver the bag to the main event venue at the time below to ensure the bag get load into the trucks on time.

The event provides a valet drop bag service, this means as you arrive in the aid station our amazing team will have your bag ready for you.
