The Whaka100 is considered one of the Southern Hemisphere's toughest mountain bike marathon and it is about to step up to the next level in 2021 with the Whaka100 Miler event.  Setting off under lights in the early hours of Sunday morning this will be the race of all races, 160 kilometres of the best trails, technical terrain and famous stem chewing climbs whaka100 with over 5000 vertical metres, only the most determined athletes making it to the finish within the 15 hour race window! ​​

100 MILER QUALIFICATION CRITERIA
All riders wanting to enter the DCA Whaka100 miler event must meet the following qualification standards. This is non-negotiable,  failure to meet the standard will see the rider automatically relegated to the 100km event.  The are no refunds for riders who are relegated to the 100km event.

Qualification Standard:

All riders who enter the 100 mile event after the 21st of December 2020 must submit a verified copy of their qualification by submitting a weblink of their activity between 1 January 2019 & 31 September 2021.
  • Complete the whaka100 2020 sub 8:22 hours or other qualifying events listed below
Or 
  • Complete a self timed 100km mountain bike event with a minimum of 2000 metres of elevation within 8:22 hours and provide a clean Strava link to the activity

100 MILER -  CUT OFF TIMES
The course check points listed below are in the interest of participant safety.  The times are based on a participant averaging 9kmph or less. It is unlikely that this will affect your event  however if you fall behind the timing checkpoints you will be removed from the event and classed as a non finisher.

CLIF AID STATION 
The 100 Mile course self service feedzone is located along the course at 60km and 100km. The feed stations are stocked with Clif Bars and Clif Shot along with water, nuun hydration, coke, bananas, fruit bread.

CAMELBAK WATER STATIONS
There will be Camelbak water stations out on course located at 37km
, 60km , 86km, 100km and 140km. 
DROP BAG SERVICE
  • Bag drop off 5:00 - 5:30pm (Saturday)
The 100km event has a drop bag service as part of your event. Your event race bag will be transported to and from the Clif Bar Feed Station. Our amazing team will have helpers just for you that will assist you with you bag to save you having to look around for it. At the end of the event bags can be collected from 3pm. 

As part of your race entry, you are supplied one feed zone bag that is recommended for the feed station, however you can use another style of bag or chilly bin no bigger than 58cm x 46cm x 35.5cm

As part of your entry the 100 miler race will have exclusive access to:
  • Exclusive 100 Miler event tee shirt
  • Pre event bike mechanical check
  • Live timing and results
  • Bicycle light - secure drop box at 50km
  • 4 catered feed zones on course including convergence drop bag service
  • Dedicated support team including medical staff and mechanical assistance including exaction service if you are unable to finish
  •  Your 2021 finisher wings medal
