The Whaka Eliminator caters for all riders as they race shoulder-to-shoulder around a tight and twisting 300m course featuring man-made jumps, berms, and rollers in a unique format. The event also incorporates the UCI Cross Country Eliminator MTB National Championship.

- $35 until 31 August +5% processing fee online only
- $45 from 1 September +5% processing fee online only
- $55 from 1 October +5% processing fee online only
- National Champs - Age 17+, New Zealand riders with a 2024 Cycling New Zealand Annual Licence regardless of being elite or masters etc.
- Open - All riders age 15+ including International riders, no licence required
- Ebike - All riders age 15+ including International riders, no licence required, ebike rules apply

THE COURSE
- In the heart of the Whaka 100 finish line venue
- 300m length per lap, grass & gravel surface, no elevation
- Multiple features, including chicanes, wall ride, table top, step-up, and more.
HOW THE ELIMINATOR WORKS
All riders will go through a qualification with the top riders advancing to the finals.

National Champs - Qualification
The qualification format is a single lap of the course in an individual time trial format, with the fastest riders advancing to the finals.
Open - Qualification
The qualification format is a single lap of the course in an individual time trial format, with the fastest riders advancing to the finals.
The time-trial results will also be used to determine the seeding start grid for 50km, 25km and the 100km events excluding XCM Champs race.
eBike - Qualification
The qualification format is a single lap of the course in an individual time trial format, with the fastest riders advancing to the finals.
The heats & finals
In the finals, riders will be split into heats of four, where you’ll go head-to-head in a two lap heat. At the end of each heat the two fastest riders progress to the next round and the two slowest riders are ‘eliminated’, until there are only four riders left to race the final. National Champs will also run a small final.
All riders will go through a qualification with the top riders advancing to the finals.

- Riders will only have one opportunity to qualify
- Riders will be released as per the published start order for their time trial
- Fastest 32 men and top 16 women will advance to the heats & finals*
Open - Qualification
The qualification format is a single lap of the course in an individual time trial format, with the fastest riders advancing to the finals.
- Riders will only have one opportunity to qualify
- Riders will be released as per the published start order for their time trial
- Fastest 12 men and top 8 women will advance to the heats & finals*
