The Whaka100 Mountain Bike Marathon® is excited partner with Cycling New Zealand to host the Marathon MTB National Championships on 27 October 2024 as part of the Whaka100.  

How it works
The event will run a dual podium, this means some riders may appear on the podium twice for the 100km race.  Two separate results produced as follows:

Marathon MTB National Championships Results

• Only eligible New Zealand licensed riders aged 19 or above who entered the Whaka100 Elite Category & elected to be included in the National Championship.
• The First placed "eligible NZ" rider will be awarded the National Jersey
• Cycling New Zealand Medals awarded, there is not prize money.

Whaka100 Elite Results

• All New Zealand & International riders who entered the Whaka100 Elite Category

• Eligible for prize money
• Whaka100 Medals awarded 

Seeding Process
​National Champs & Elite Start  (UCI Rule 4.2.061 )
The start for UCI Cross Country Marathon MTB National Championship & elite combined.  Seeding for is determined by:

1. As per the last published UCI XCM individual ranking 
2. As per the last published UCI XCO individual ranking;
3. Unclassified riders: by drawing lots. 

Eligibility 
The Marathon Championship is open to all New Zealand licensed riders aged 19 or older. The rider must hold a current Cycling New Zealand Licence licence.

International Riders
International riders are welcome to ride in the Whaka100 but will not be included in the National Championship Results.​
